Lecture Series

All lectures are free and open to the public.  They are held at the Reamstown Community Center located at 23 E. Church Street, Reamstown starting at 7:00 p.m.

January 17, 2017 – Heirloom Seeds

We will have a representative from the Landis Valley Heirloom Seed Program explaining why seed saving is important and how to do it. Seed orders and some seeds will be available.

March 21, 2017 – 100th Anniversary of U.S. entry into World War I

The U.S. entry into World War I occurred April 6, 1917 when Congress declared war on Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.  Marking the 100th anniversary of this event, Ken McCrea will present a lecture on East Cocalico residents’ participation in the war, including the six men known to have died in the conflict.

May 16, 2017 – Lenape Indians

Uhma Ruth Py will be discussing the culture, games and story telling of the Lenape tribe.

September 19, 2017 – Bookbinding

Ramon and Danielle Townsend will talk about bookbinding and a brief history of the written word.  Do you like books?  Join us and learn more.
